PK/PD Senior Scientist, Translational Sciences: Pharmacometrics

  • We are seeking highly motivated QSP/PKPD Modeling & Simulation Scientist who is driven to enhance drug development through quantitative modeling and simulation of PKPD and biological systems.
  • This role will be responsible of supporting PKPD-related and mathematical modeling activities in the PKDM space for drug discovery and development.
  • The Scientist in this role will work directly with other PKDM stakeholders to influence decision-making in the development of novel therapeutics including target/compound evaluation, design of preclinical studies, investigation of exposure-response relationships, design and execution of translational strategies, inform clinical study design.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply mechanistic PKPD and systems pharmacology models in various therapeutic areas with a focus on oncology and neurodegenerative diseases. 
  • Implement quantitative analysis and strategies to inform decision making in drug development by using mathematical modeling and quantitative pharmacology principles with a focus on mechanistic and translational modeling
  • Apply PK and PK/PD modeling/simulation to guide the design and execution of in vivo preclinical animal experiments for efficacy and toxicology
  • Build effective collaboration with other scientists in Modeling and Simulation, Clinical Pharmacology, Clinical Science, Informatics, Biostatistics, Preclinical and Translational PK, DMPK, Safety Assessment, Biomarker, Diagnostics, Regulatory, and other functions.
  • Collaborate to develop robust translational and biomarker strategies for clinical candidates
  • Contribute to the analysis of in-vitro and pre-clinical PK/PD data for selection of first in humans (FIH) dose levels and contributes to IND submissions and documentation of appropriate reports.
  • Contribute to preparation of nonclinical documents in support of regulatory filings (INDs, NDAs, briefing books etc.)


  • Ph.D. or M.S. in pharmaceutical sciences (PKPD concentration), mathematics, engineering, or other related disciplines
  • Experience 3+ years or master’s degree with 5+ years of experience in PK/PD modeling & simulation, quantitative pharmacology and applied population PK in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Expertise PK/PD analysis and modeling using Phoenix/WinNonlin, MATLAB /Simbiology, NONMEM, R etc., and/or experienced in the mathematical description and numerical solution of biological systems to address complex life sciences problems
  • PBPK modeling experience a plus 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be a team-player, dependable and flexible in adapting to change in multidisciplinary, fast-paced R&D organization
